Ignition System Overview






1 Knock Sensor (KS) 1 (G61)

• Contacts gold plated

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Knock Sensor 1 (G61) ] Service and Repair

2 Ignition Coil with Power Output Stage

• Ignition Coil 1 with Power Output Stage (N70)

• Ignition Coil 2 with Power Output Stage (N127)

• Ignition Coil 3 with Power Output Stage (N291)

• Ignition Coil 4 with Power Output Stage (N292)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Ignition Coils with Power Output Stages ] Service and Repair

• To remove, use the ignition coil puller (T40039)

3 Spark Plug

• 30 Nm

4 Bolt

• 20 Nm

• The tightening specification affect how the knock sensor functions

5 Bolt

• 10 Nm

6 Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor (G40)

• Contacts gold plated

7 O-ring

• If damaged, replace O-ring
