Information Electronics Control Module 2 (J829)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Radio Removal Tool (T10057)

• Protective Cap for Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)

The information electronics control module 2 is located between the rear seats inside the rear panel.

- If the control module is replaced, select the "Replacement" function for the appropriate control module in the "Guided Fault-Finding" routine.

Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester to do so.

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

Removing

- Fold down the rear center armrest.

- Remove any remaining DVDs or SD cards inside the information electronics control module 2.

- Insert the two (T10057) into the slits in the information electronics control module 2 - 1 -. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.






- Remove the information electronics control module 2 - 1 -.

- Remove the (T10057) by pushing the locking tabs on information electronics control module 2.

- Release and disconnect all the connectors on the information electronics control module 2.

- Connect the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - to the connector for the MOST-Bus - 2 -.






Installing

- Connect all harness connectors.

- Slide the information electronics control module 2 into the installation frame until it engages.
