Night Vision System Control Module (J853)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Vehicle Diagnostic Tester with diagnostic cable

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Removing

The night vision system control module (J853) is located in the left front footwell.

If the night vision system control module is replaced, then the program must be started on the vehicle diagnostic tester in "Guided Functions".

- Loosen the left front seat and push it to the rear with the wires still connected.

- Remove the floor mat.

- Remove the sill panel strip..

- Remove the foot rest..

- Remove the cover - 1 - for the emergency release - arrows -.






- Disconnect the floor covering and push it to the side, then guide the cover - 1 - for the emergency release through the opening.

- Unlock the clips in direction of - arrow -.






- Open the cover - 1 -.

- Release the connectors - 1 and 2 - and disconnect them from the night vision system control module - 3 -.






• Disconnect the connector - 2 - first and then - 1 -.

- Press the tab in direction of - arrow - and remove the night vision system control module - 3 - from the E-box.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

If the night vision system control module was replaced, then the program must be started on the vehicle diagnostic tester in "Guided Functions".
