Rear Center Armrest

Removing

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

- Remove the rear seat backrest. Refer to or the seat frame/rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Lower Seat Frame/Rear Seat Backrest ] Lower Seat Frame/Rear Seat Backrest.

- Vehicles with individual power rear seats: Remove the center seat cushion. Refer to => [ Center Seat Cushion ] Center Seat Cushion.

- Vehicles with rear seat entertainment: Remove the DVD changer (R161).

- Remove the rear armrest upper trim. Refer to => [ Center Armrest Upper Rear Lid Trim ] Center Armrest Upper Rear Lid Trim.

- Remove the rear shelf. Refer to => [ Rear Shelf ] Rear Shelf.

Vehicles with cooler:






- Remove trim with cooler compressor button. Refer to => [ Cooler Compressor Trim ] Cooler Compressor Trim.

- Open cooler lid - 1 -.

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.

Versions with a storage compartment:






- Open storage compartment lid - 1 -.

- Remove the bolts - 2 and 3 -.

- Unclip cover caps - 5 - using a screwdriver, and remove the bolts - 4 - behind them.

All vehicles:






- Disconnect harness connectors for center armrest and free up wiring harness.

- Push insulation mat for rear bulkhead slightly to the side and remove nuts - 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 -.

- Remove the bolts - 1, 5, 6 and 10 -.

- Remove spring washers - arrows -, unclip center armrest at the front from the threaded pins.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
