The following figure shows the refrigerant line with inner heat exchanger - A - in a vehicle with the left front fender removed.

- Remove refrigerant lines - B - (in the area under the left headlamp) from refrigerant line with inner heat exchanger - A -, refer to => [ Refrigerant Lines Under Left Headlamp From Inner Heat Exchanger Line ] Refrigerant Lines Under Left Headlamp From Inner Heat Exchanger Line.

- Detach brackets - C -, - D - and - E - for the refrigerant line with inner heat exchanger - A - from the vehicle.

- Remove refrigerant lines - F - (in the area of the A-pillar) from refrigerant line with inner heat exchanger - A -, refer to => [ Refrigerant Lines Near A-Pillar From Inner Heat Exchanger Line ] Refrigerant Lines Near A-Pillar From Inner Heat Exchanger Line.

Installing

Installation is done is reverse order, observe the following:

- Thoroughly clean the refrigerant lines around the connection area and check for damage.

- Install refrigerant lines - F - (in the area of the A-pillar) at refrigerant line with inner heat exchanger - A -=> [ Refrigerant Lines At Quick-Release Couplings, Installing ] Refrigerant Lines At Quick-Release Couplings, Installing.

- Install brackets - C -, - D - and - E - for the refrigerant line with inner heat exchanger - A - in the vehicle.

- Install refrigerant lines - B - (in the area under the left headlamp) on refrigerant line with inner heat exchanger - A -, refer to => [ Refrigerant Lines At Quick-Release Couplings, Installing ] Refrigerant Lines At Quick-Release Couplings, Installing.

Install refrigerant pipes such that they are not strained.

Check installation position of refrigerant lines to the quick-release couplings (they should not come in contact with other components).

- Install the remaining components.

- Evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit.

- Switch on the ignition.

- Check the event memory of the Climatronic control module (J255) , and erase any displayed malfunctions using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

- Operate the A/C system after filling the refrigerant circuit, refer to => [ A/C System Operating After Filling Refrigerant Circuit ] A/C System Operating After Filling Refrigerant Circuit.

Note the information regarding operating the A/C system after filling.
