Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair






Camshaft Position Sensor

The following camshaft position sensors are installed in right cylinder bank 1: camshaft position sensor (G40) and camshaft position sensor 3 (G300)

The following camshaft position sensors are installed in left cylinder bank 2: camshaft position sensor 2 (G163) and camshaft position sensor 4 (G301)

For the locations of the four camshaft position sensors, refer to => [ Component Locations Overview ] .

- Loosen the clamps - 1 and 2 - and remove the right air guide pipe in order to remove camshaft position sensor 3 (G300) on cylinder bank 1.





- Loosen the clamps - 1 and 2 - and remove the left air guide pipe in order to remove camshaft position sensor 4 (G301) on cylinder bank 2.





Installing

Replace the O-ring if damaged

- Coat the O-ring with engine oil and carefully press the camshaft position sensor in by hand.

- Tighten the camshaft position sensor and connect the electrical connector.

Camshaft position sensor tightening specification, refer to => [ Ignition Assembly Overview ] Service and Repair.

- Further installation is performed in reverse order.
