Selector Lever Release Button (E681) and Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit (Y26)
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Inner Torx(R), size T6
• Commercially available torque wrench, torque 0.25 Nm, for example, made by Stahlwille, No. 775/12 , range 0.2 - 1.2 Nm
Removing
- Ignition turned off
- Remove the key.
- Wait until the lamp in the selector lever transmission range position display unit - 2 - goes out.
• The selector lever release button and the selector lever transmission range position display unit are a unit - 1 -. They can only be replaced together.
- Pull the upper selector lever handle - 1 - upward.
- Remove the three screws - arrows - on the bottom of the upper selector lever handle.
- Remove the selector lever release button and the selector lever transmission range position display unit - 3 - carefully.
- Remove the cover - 1 - carefully.
Installing
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
• For the correct tightening specifications, refer to => [ Selector Mechanism Overview ] Selector Mechanism Overview.
- Install the selector lever release button and the selector lever transmission range position display unit - 3 - into the upper selector lever handle - 2 -.
- Install the cover - 1 -.
- Install the three screws - arrows - carefully.
Danger of damaging the components.
• The tightening specification for the three screws if very small. Refer to - item 4 - => [ (Item 4) Bolt ] Selector Mechanism Overview.
- Make sure the three clips - 1 - fit correctly into the bottom of the upper selector lever handle. Push them in if necessary.
- Attach the upper selector lever handle - 1 - to the lower selector lever handle section - 2 -.
