Information Electronics Control Module 1 (J794)

Radio Removal Tool (T10057)

Fiber Optic Plier Repair Set (VAS 6223)

Protective Cap for Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)

The information electronics control module 1 is located inside the instrument panel.

- If the control module is replaced, select the "Replacement" function for the appropriate control module in the "Guided Fault-Finding".

Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

Removing

- Remove any remaining DVD's or SD cards inside the information electronics control module 1.

- Remove the navigation system cover from the information electronics control module 1 (J794)..

- Insert the two clips from (T10057) into the slits in the information electronics control module 1 until they latch. Points on the grip eyelets of the tool face outward.






- Remove the information electronics control module 1 - 1 -.

Pay attention to the wire routing to the display inside the instrument panel. It will not be possible to extend the display again if the wiring is routed incorrectly during installation.

- Remove the (T10057) by pushing the locking tabs on the information electronics control module 1.

- Release and disconnect the connections from the information electronics control module 1.

- Connect the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST bus connectors - 2 -.






Installing

- Connect all harness connectors.

- Slide the information electronics control module 1 into the installation frame until it engages.

Pay attention to the wire routing to the display inside the instrument panel. It will not be possible to extend the display again if the wiring is routed incorrectly during installation.
