Digital Sound System Control Module 2 (J787)

The digital sound system control module 2 - 2 - is located inside the luggage compartment on the left side rear panel behind the digital sound system control module (J525) - 1 -.






- If the control module is replaced, select the "Replacement" function for the appropriate control module in the "Guided Fault-Finding" routine.

Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester to do so.

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

Removing

- Remove the real panel trim panel..

Remove the digital sound system control module (J525) and then digital sound system control module 2 and bracket.

- Unlock and disconnect the connectors - 3 -, - 4 - and - 5 - from the digital sound system control module (J525) - 1 -.






- Install the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST bus connectors - 2 -.






- Remove the bolts - 2 - from the digital sound system control module - 1 - and the remove the module - 1 -.






Remove the bracket with the digital sound system control module 2.

- Unlock and disconnect the connector - 2 - from digital sound system control module 2 (J787) - 1 -.






- Install the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST bus connectors - 2 -.






- Remove the nuts - 3 and 4 - and remove the bracket - 1 - with the digital sound system control module 2 from the luggage compartment.






Remove the bracket from the digital sound system control module 2.

- Remove the nuts - 1 - at the top of the bracket - 2 - and then remove the bracket - 2 - from digital sound system control module 2 - 3 -.






- Remove the nuts - 1 - at the bottom of the bracket - 2 - and then remove the bracket - 2 - from digital sound system control module 2 - 3 -.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.
