Roof Trim Strip

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim removal wedge (3409)






Removing






Do not bend the roof trim molding.

- Open the front and rear doors.

- Remove the cover for the C-pillar side window. Refer to => [ Side Window Cover, C-Pillar ] Side Window Cover, C-Pillar.

- Remove the roof trim molding - 1 - from the clips - arrow - starting at the A-pillar using the trim removal wedge (3409)

- Remove the roof trim molding from the clips - 1 - in the area around the rear side window - 2 -.






- Have a second technician hold the roof trim molding to keep it from damaging the paint.

- Tape off the area around the side window trim molding - 1 - with adhesive tape, as illustrated, - 3 - to protect the paint.






Installing






Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Align the tabs on the roof trim molding - 1 - - 4 - with the holes - 3 - and then press on the clips - 2 -.

The roof trim molding must audibly engage.

- Coat the rubber strip on the side window with tire mounting paste.

New roof trim moldings and trim strips for the side panel are a single part must be installed together.

- Install the roof trim molding - 3 - into the side window trim molding - 6 -.






The locking fork - 4 - must fit correctly into the guide - 5 -.

- Push the roof trim molding and the side window trim molding onto the clips - 2 -.

the rubber strip - 1 - on the side window must cover the side window trim molding.
