Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Trim removal wedge (3409)
Removing
• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.
• Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.
- Seat frame Remove the rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Lower Seat Frame/Rear Seat Backrest ] Lower Seat Frame/Rear Seat Backrest.
- Disconnect harness connectors - 2 to 5 - at the control module.
• The number of connectors may vary depending on equipment. The description shows the version with the most equipment possible.
- Carefully unclip control module using the trim removal wedge (3409) at the catches - 1 -.
- Swing out control module - direction of arrow - detach hooks - 6 - at the retainer and remove control module.
Installing

• Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.
• Observe all measures when installing the rear seat => [ Lower Seat Frame/Rear Seat Backrest ] Lower Seat Frame/Rear Seat Backrest.
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
