1 Engine Temperature Control Temperature Sensor (G694)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Engine Temperature Control Temperature Sensor ] Engine Temperature Control Temperature Sensor

2 Bolt

• 8 Nm

3 O-ring

• Replace

4 Engine Lifting Eye

• With wiring harness bracket

5 Bolt

• 22 Nm

6 Bolt

• 22 Nm

7 Cylinder Head

• Removing, refer to => [ Left Cylinder Head, Removing ] Left Cylinder Head, Removing or => [ Right Cylinder Head, Removing ] Right Cylinder Head, Removing

• Installing, refer to => [ Cylinder Head, Installing ] Cylinder Head, Installing

• Check for distortion, refer to => [ Checking Cylinder Head for Distortion ]

• Reworking dimension, refer to => [ Reworking Dimension, Cylinder Head ]

• After replacing, change coolant and engine oil

8 Gasket

• For cylinder head cover

• Replace if damaged or leaking

9 Cylinder Head Cover

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Cylinder Head Cover ] Service and Repair

10 Gasket

• Replace if damaged or leaking

11 Cap

• After replacing, change coolant and engine oil

Left Cylinder Head Cover, Tightening Specifications and Sequence





- Tighten the bolts to 9 Nm in the following sequence: - 1 through 15 -.

- Tighten the bolts to 9 Nm in the following sequence: - 1 through 16 -.

• Replace bolts which have been tightened to an additional torque.

- Tighten the bolts in 7 steps according to the tightening sequence:






Checking Cylinder Head for Distortion





- Check the cylinder head on several locations for distortion using a straight edge 500 mm (VAS 6075) and a feeler gauge.

• Maximum permissible distortion: 0.1 mm.

Reworking Dimension, Cylinder Head





Resurfacing cylinder head (face grinding) is only permissible to minimum dimension - a -.
