HID Headlamps Overview

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to=> [ Contact Corrosion ] Service Precautions.

• Headlamps must be adjusted after performing measures that could influence headlamp adjustment. Refer to => [ HID Headlamp, Adjusting ] HID Headlamp, Adjusting.






1 Ventilation

• For headlamp housing.

2 Filter Membrane

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Filter Membrane ] Filter Membrane.

3 Headlamp Housing

• Front side marker lamp bulb (M33) / (M34) depending on the country. Cannot be replaced separately.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Headlamp Housing ] Headlamp Housing.

4 Gasket

5 HID Headlamp Control Module

• Left High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J343) and Right High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J344).

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ High-Intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J343)/(J344) ] High-Intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J343)/(J344).

6 Screw

• 1.2 Nm

• Quantity: 3

7 Impact Screw

• For aligning headlamp housing to contour of chassis.

• Must rest against lock carrier.

8 Front Turn Signal Lamp

• Left Front Turn Signal Bulb (M5) , Right Front Turn Signal Bulb (M7).

• 12V, 24 W

• Bulb, replacing, refer to => [ Front Turn Signal Lamp Bulbs ] Front Turn Signal Lamp Bulbs.

9 Bulb

• Depending on equipment.

• Fog lamps: Left Fog Lamp Bulb (L22) , Right Fog Lamp Bulb (L23).

• Cornering lamp: Left Cornering Lamp Bulb (L148) , Right Cornering Lamp Bulb (L149).

• 12 V, 55 W (H7)

• Bulb, replacing, refer to => [ Fog and Cornering Lamp Bulbs ] Fog and Cornering Lamp Bulbs.

11 Sealing Ring

12 Headlamp Range Control Positioning Motor

• Left Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor (V48) and Right Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor (V49).

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motors ] Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motors.

13 Housing Cover

• For gas discharge lamp.

14 Screw

• 1.2 Nm

• Quantity: 2

15 Gasket

16 Headlamp Power Output Stages

• Only for vehicles with cornering lamps.

• Left Headlamp Power Output Stage (J667) or Right Headlamp Power Output Stage (J668).

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Headlamp Power Output Stages ] Headlamp Power Output Stages.

17 Screw

• 1.4 Nm

• Quantity: 3

18 Gas-Discharge Lamp

• With integrated ignition coil.

• Left HID Headlamp Bulb (L13) , Right HID Headlamp Bulb (L14) 42 V, 35 W (D3S)

• Bulb, replacing, refer to => [ Headlamp Bulbs ] Headlamp Bulbs.

19 Adapter Ring

• For gas discharge lamp.

20 Daytime Running Lamp and Parking Lamp Control Module

• Left Daytime Running Lamp And Parking Lamp Control Module (J860) , Right Daytime Running Lamp And Parking Lamp Control Module (J861).

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Daytime Running Lamp and Parking Lamp Control Module ] Daytime Running Lamp and Parking Lamp Control Module.

21 Sealing Frame

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Sealing Frame ] Sealing Frame.

Tightening Specification: Headlamp Housing Repair Set






- Tighten the screws - 2 - and - 4 - to 6 Nm.
