Daytime Running Lamp and Parking Lamp Control Module

Danger to life due to high voltage.

Always disconnect the battery wire strap before working on gas-discharge headlamp components marked with yellow high-voltage symbols.

Danger of causing damage to the vehicle electronics.

Requirement: Make sure nothing, especially metal or other light weight particles, can get into the headlamp housing.

Make sure also no oil, grease, silicone or other such materials can get into an open headlamp, otherwise they can turn into steam and fog up the headlamp.

Touching electronic circuits with bare hands can lead to migration.

Electro Static Discharge (ESD) protection: Always follow DIN EN 613-40-5-1 when handling.

Do not use any components or electronics that have fallen down.

ESD work surface (VAS 6613).

Removing






- Remove headlamp housings, refer to => [ Headlamp Housing ] Headlamp Housing.

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.

- Remove the housing cover - 1 - from the headlamp housing.

- Press the tab - 3 - and disconnect the connector - 1 -.






- Turn the HID bulb - 2 - counterclockwise and remove it from the housing.

- Press the release buttons - arrows A - and disconnect the connector - 2 -.






- Open the tabs on both side and swivel toward the rear in direction of travel - arrows B -.

- Remove the control module - 1 - from the mount in the headlamp housing.

Installing






Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Install the control module - 1 - onto the pins - arrow - as illustrated.

It will not be possible to close the tabs if the control module is not installed correctly.

- Install the HID bulb. Refer to => [ Headlamp Bulbs ] Headlamp Bulbs.
