Steering Column Switch Module, Electronic Ignition Lock and Induction Coil Overview

• The steering column switch module consists of coil connector with slip ring, Steering Angle Sensor (G85) , steering column switch (turn signal indicator switch, wiper switch, cruise control switch) and Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527).

• Fault Finding is done in"Guided Fault Finding" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.






1 Anti-Theft Immobilizer Reading Coil (D2)

• 3 Nm

• Quantity: 2

3 Ignition Key

4 Divider

• Depending on the date of manufacture.

• Access/Start Authorization Switch (E415).

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Access/Start Authorization Switch (E415), through June 2010 ] Access/Start Authorization Switch (E415), through June 2010.

5 Screw

• 3 Nm

6 Mount

• for Access/start authorization switch (E415)

7 Screw

• 0.5 Nm

8 Transport Protection

9 Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527)

• With Airbag Spiral Spring/Return Spring With Slip Ring (F138) , Steering Angle Sensor (G85).

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527) ] Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527).

Risk of damaging coil connector.

• Coil connector with slip ring is not to be turned following removal.

10 Mount

• With Turn Signal Switch (E2) , Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch (E22).

• With cruise control with Cruise Control Switch (E45).

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Turn Signal, Cruise Control and Windshield Wiper and Washer Intermittent Switches ] Service and Repair.
