Condition
Abnormal hissing intake noise when accelerating from the engine compartment.

Technical Background

Customer may complain of whistling noise from engine compartment/turbo charge on related Audi Q5 with 2.0L TFSI CAEB engine.

Production Solution

Not applicable.

Service

1. If customer complaint exists, check part number of the air intake manifold.





2. If the part number 06H 129 629 K (plastic, see Figure 1) is installed, replace with part number 06H 129 629 C (rubber, see Figure 2).

Try to reproduce the customer complaint so that it can be clearly assigned to this TSB. The following measure must only be carried out, if all the criteria (model/type, chassis number, engine/gearbox code, PR number(s), part number, software version etc.) match exactly. Otherwise, this solution will not work and repeat repairs may be necessary. In such a case, we may reject the warranty claim.
