Heater Core Housing Temperature Doors

On the "Comfort" A/C system, the front right temperature doors, item 1 => [ (Item 1) Upper Right Temperature Door ] and the front left, item 2 => [ (Item 2) Upper Left Temperature Door ] are each actuated by one control motor ( Right Temperature Door Motor (V159) and Left Temperature Door Motor (V158) ). Both temperature doors for the rear right vents, item 3 => [ (Item 3) Lower Right Temperature Door ] and the rear left, item 4 => [ (Item 4) Lower Left Temperature Door ] are connected to each other by a connector rod; they are actuated via the Rear Temperature door Motor (V137). On the "Basis" A/C system, the temperature door for the right instrument panel vents, item 1 => [ (Item 1) Upper Right Temperature Door ] and the front and rear right footwell vents, item 3 => [ (Item 3) Lower Right Temperature Door ] as well as the temperature door for the left instrument panel vents, item 2 => [ (Item 2) Upper Left Temperature Door ] and the front and rear left footwell vents, item 4 => [ (Item 4) Lower Left Temperature Door ] are connected to each other by the shafts (item 13 => [ (Item 13) Lower Temperature Door Shaft ] and item 12 => [ (Item 12) Upper Temperature Door Shaft ] ). The right temperature door shafts, item 3=> [ (Item 3) Lower Right Temperature Door ] and the left temperature door shafts, item 4 => [ (Item 4) Lower Left Temperature Door ] are connected to each other by a connector rod; they are both actuated by the Temperature Regulator door Motor (V68). 1 Upper Right Temperature Door

On the "Comfort" A/C system, for the right and center instrument panel vents as well as the front right footwell vent.

On the "Basis" A/C system, for the right and center instrument panel vents.

In this illustration, the temperature door is shown in the "heat" position.

The "Basis" A/C system does not have separating walls, therefore, air does not get diffused after it has left the auxiliary air heater heating element (Z35) / honey comb.

2 Upper Left Temperature Door

On the "Comfort" A/C system, for the left and left center instrument panel vents as well as for the front left footwell vent

On the "Basis" A/C system, for the left and center instrument panel vents, item 1 => [ (Item 1) Upper Right Temperature Door ].

In this illustration, the temperature door is shown in the "cooling" position.

3 Lower Right Temperature Door

On the "Comfort" A/C system, for the rear right footwell vents

On the "Basis" A/C system, for the front right and rear right footwell vents, item 1 => [ (Item 1) Upper Right Temperature Door ].

In this illustration, the temperature door is shown in the "cooling" position.

4 Lower Left Temperature Door

On the "Comfort" A/C system, for the rear left footwell vents

On the "Basis" A/C system, for the left front and the left rear footwell vents, refer to item 1 => [ (Item 1) Upper Right Temperature Door ].

In this illustration, the temperature door is shown in the "heat" position.

5 Right heater core Housing

Different versions, depending on the ("Comfort" and "Basis" A/C systems).

6 Left heater core Housing

Different versions, depending on the ("Comfort" and "Basis" A/C systems).

7 Heater Core

Covered with different foam seals, depending on the ("Comfort" and "Basis" A/C systems). Refer to => [ Heater Core/Housings ] Heater Core/Housings.

8 Foam Seal

Only on vehicle equipped with the "Comfort" A/C system; present to separate the air flow between the right and left side.

9 Foam Seal

Only on vehicle equipped with the "Comfort" A/C system; present to separate the air flow between the front and rear.

10 Auxiliary Air Heater Heating Element (Z35) / Honey Comb

Covered with different foam seals, depending on the ("Comfort" and "Basis" A/C systems). Refer to => [ Auxiliary Air Heater Heating Element (Z35)/Honey Comb ] Auxiliary Air Heater Heating Element (Z35)/Honey Comb.

In MY 2009, as a running change, a new version of the auxiliary air heater heating element (Z35) is being installed (the heating element is a bit more narrow); be sure to use the correct version and note the allocation. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

11 Foam Seal

Only on vehicle equipped with the "Comfort" A/C system; present to separate the air flow between the right and left side.

12 Upper Temperature Door Shaft

On the "Basis" A/C system, connected with the shaft, item 13 => [ (Item 13) Lower Temperature Door Shaft ] (the doors move together).

13 Lower Temperature Door Shaft

On the "Basis" A/C system, connected with the shaft, item 12 => [ (Item 12) Upper Temperature Door Shaft ] (the doors move together).

14 Upper Temperature Door Shaft

On the "Comfort" A/C system, located in the shaft, item 15 => [ (Item 15) Lower Temperature Door Shaft ] (the doors move independent of each other).

15 Lower Temperature Door Shaft

On the "Comfort" A/C system, located in the shaft, item 14 => [ (Item 14) Upper Temperature Door Shaft ] (the doors move independent of each other).
