Left Catalytic Converter

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Pry Lever - Rmv Outside Mirror (80 - 200)

Removing

- Remove the strut tower brace.






- Remove the Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 2 after catalytic converter (G131) - 2 -.






- Remove the plenum chamber bulkhead.

- Remove the left front muffler. Refer to => [ Front Muffler ] Front Muffler.

- Remove the left front wheel.

- Remove the drive axle cover - 1 - in the left wheel housing.






- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the left drive axle heat shield.






- Remove the ball socket - 1 - on the selector lever cable from the selector shaft lever using the (80 - 200).






- Press the securing clips - 2 - off and remove the selector lever cable from the transmission.

• Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

- Remove the nuts - arrows - and bolt - 1 - and remove the left catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold.






• The installation location is shown with the engine removed.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the bracket.






• Ignore - 2 and arrow -.

- Remove the left catalytic converter.

Installing

• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Muffler Overview ] Muffler Overview, => [ Catalytic Converter Mount Components - Vehicles with Automatic Transmission 0B6 ] Muffler Overview.

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

• Replace the seals and self-locking nuts.

- Install selector lever cable.

- Install the drive axle heat shield; refer to => [ Driveshaft Heat Shield - Tightening Specification ] Engine, Installing.

- Install the drive axle cover.

- Mount the front wheel.

- Install the left front muffler. Refer to => [ Front Muffler ] Front Muffler.

- Install the plenum chamber bulkhead.

- Install the O2S 2 after catalytic converter.

- Install the tower brace.
