Affected Vehicles

Condition
Customer may report rattling noises from front axle when driving over bumpy or rough roads.

Technical Background
Poor quality of some retaining springs causes this condition. Brake effectiveness is not affected.

Production Solution
Not Applicable.

Service

1. Duplicate customers concern with a test drive. When the rattle occurs, apply slight brake pressure.

^ If the rattle stops - continue to step 2 of this TSB.

^ If the rattle does not change at all - this TSB does not apply.





2. Inspect the front brake retaining springs. Replace both springs if either one of the springs appears to be broken, deformed, or does not have enough tension. Always replace both retaining springs, even if only one spring is affected.
