Affected Vehicles

Condition
Customer may report rattling noises from front axle when driving over
bumpy or rough roads.

Technical Background
Poor quality of some retaining springs causes this condition. Brake effectiveness is not affected.

Production Solution
Not Applicable.

Service

1. Duplicate customers concern with a test drive. When the rattle occurs, apply slight brake pressure.

If the rattle stops - continue to step 2 of this TSB.

If the rattle does not change at all - this TSB does not apply.

2. Create a ticket using the Technical Assistance Center System in ElsaWeb.

3. Attach a photo of the back of both front brake calipers to the TACS ticket, showing the production information. Please ensure that the production information is as legible as possible in the photo.

4. Also type the information from both brake calipers into the TAC ticket. Check both calipers since the production information may differ from side to side.





5. Replace retaining springs on both front brake calipers. Always replace both retaining springs, even if only one spring is affected.
