Headlamp Housing Bracket

Danger to life due to high voltage.

Removing






- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery Ground (ND) wire. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Remove headlamp, refer to => [ Headlamps ] Headlamps.

- Remove the expanding clips - 2 - on the left and right sides of the cover - 1 -, if equipped.

- Remove cover - 2 - from guide in lock carrier - 1 - - A arrows -.






- Remove cover on bumper wall and radiator grille - B arrows -.

- Guide a long wrench - 1 - through cut-out and remove screws - arrows -.






- Remove headlamp housing bracket - 2 - forward.

Installing






Tightening specification, refer to => [ Headlamp Housing Bracket and Mount Overview ] Headlamp Housing Bracket and Mount Overview.

- Check adjustment nut - 1 - of adjusting element for smooth running - arrows -.

- Turn adjustment nut completely downward, but do not tighten.

- Insert headlamp mount - 2 - and install screws - arrows - 2 turns each.






- Install the headlamp - 1 - into headlamp housing mount - 2 -, which is still loose.






Guide tracks on headlamp housing must engage in mount guides - arrows -.

The headlamp housing must slide into the mount gently without using force.

The headlamp lens could crack.

The headlamp lens could get small cracks on the edges if the it is contacting the fender or if the gap dimension is too small.

If the gap between the headlamp lens and the hood is too small, crack may form on the top of the lens.

- Align the headlamp housing - 2 - with the hood - 1 -, the fender - 3 - and the bumper cover - 4 -.






Gap dimension - a - = 4.5 mm

Gap dimension - b - = 1.5 mm

- Tighten the screw - 1 - while holding headlamp housing securely in place.






Tightening screw automatically turns adjusting nut on adjuster towards headlamp housing mounting point and secures housing in specified location.

- When tightening, do not press on screw so that adjusting nut on adjuster can rotate freely.

- Align inner corner of headlamp housing with the bumper cover.

Lower edge of headlamp must be parallel to upper edge of bumper cover.

- Check the gap dimensions between the headlamp housing and the fender and headlamp housing and the bumper cover and adjust again if necessary.

- Tighten screws - 2 - and - 3 -.

Tightening screws automatically turns adjusting nut on adjuster towards headlamp housing mounting point and secures housing in specified location.

- When tightening, do not press on screw so that adjusting nut on adjuster can rotate freely.

- Tighten screw - 4 - last.

- Check headlamp installation location again with hood closed, repeat adjustment if necessary as initially described.

- Connect battery. Refer to => [ Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Adjust headlamps after installing, refer to => [ Headlamps, Adjusting ] Headlamps, Adjusting.
