Passenger Occupant Detection System, Procedure after an Accident

• Each time an airbag or passenger belt tensioner deploys, a basic setting must be performed on the seat occupied recognition control module. Refer to Vehicle diagnostic tester.

• If the seat rails and/or the seat pan were deformed in an accident and must be replaced, replace the passenger occupant detection system with the "passenger occupant detection system service kit". Then the basic setting must be performed for the passenger occupant detection system control module. Refer to Vehicle diagnostic tester.
