Transmission Guided Functions
Transmission Guided Functions
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
Procedure:
• Vehicle diagnostic tester is connected.
- Perform "Guided Function" in Guided Functions, directory 02 - Transmission Electronics, Functions on the vehicle diagnostic tester.
Conditions:
• Follow the instructions on the vehicle diagnostic tester exactly so that "Guided Functions" can be performed successfully.
Perform "Guided Functions" with a vehicle diagnostic tester after performing the following:
1. Replacing the selector mechanism function unit: 02 - Basic Setting (Repair Group 34)
2. Working on the selector lever cable, adjusting the selector lever cable: 02 - Basic Setting (Repair Group 34)
3. Replacing the DSG transmission Mechatronic (J743) and the Transmission Control Module (TCM) (J217) : 02 - Replace Control Module/Mechatronic (Repair Group 34)
4. Replacing the dual clutch, replacing the TCM , repairing the transmission, replacing the components in the transmission: 02- Basic Setting (Rep.-Gr. 34)
5. Changing the transmission fluid on vehicles with transmission fluid temperature sensor 2 (G754) (Audi RS 5): 02 - Reset Temperature Sensor (G754) (Repair Group 34)
1. Replacing the Selector Mechanism Function Unit
• => [ Shift Mechanism Function Unit ] Shift Mechanism Function Unit
The following steps must be performed after completing this procedure:
- Select Guided Functions, 02 - Transmission Electronics, Functions and 02 - Basic Setting (Repair Group 34).
- Select Calibrate Drive Position Sensor -G676 and then follow the instructions given on the vehicle diagnostic tester.
2. Assembly Work on the Selector Lever Cable when Adjusting the Cable
• => [ Selector Lever cable, Adjusting ] Adjustments
3. Replacing the DSG Transmission Mechatronic and the Transmission Control Module
• => [ DSG Transmission Mechatronic (J743) ] DSG Transmission Mechatronic (J743)
The following steps must be performed after completing this procedure:
- Select Guided Functions, 02 - Transmission Electronics, Functions and 02 - Replace Control Module/Mechatronic (Repair Group 34) and then follow the instructions given on the vehicle diagnostic tester.
4. Replacing the Dual Clutch
• Removing and installing the dual clutch.
The following steps must be performed after completing this procedure:
- Select Guided Functions, 02 - Transmission Electronics, Functions and 02 - Basic Setting (Repair Group 34).
- Select the basic setting Adapt Clutch Slip Points and then follow the instructions given on the vehicle diagnostic tester.
5. Changing the Transmission Fluid on the Audi RS 5
• The transmission fluid Manual Transmission Fluid (MTF) must be changed at specific change intervals (at specific kilometers driven) if the vehicle is equipped with transmission fluid temperature sensor 2 (G754) - 1 -.
• The transmission fluid temperature is also monitored by transmission fluid temperature sensor 2 on these vehicles. An internal counter in the TCM starts to count when an increased transmission fluid temperature over a specific time period. The TCM stores a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory entry when the temperature is exceeded a specific number of times. The transmission fluid MTF must then be changed.
In both cases, after changing the transmission fluid, the internal counter in the TCM must be reset in the "Guided Function".
• The connector on the transmission fluid temperature sensor 2 can disconnected only when the ignition is turned off. The transmission will switch to emergency mode if the ignition is on. The counter for the increased temperature will count up and a fault will be stored in the TCM after 10 minutes.
Work sequence:
- Select Guided Functions, 02 - Transmission Electronics, Functions and 02 - Reset Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor (Repair Group 34).
