Seat Depth Adjuster Trim

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

Removing

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Service Precautions.

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

- Remove the front seat:

Manual Sport seat. Refer to => [ Manual Standard Front Seat ] Manual Standard Front Seat.

Power sport seat and super sport seat. Refer to => [ Power Standard Front Seat ] Power Standard Front Seat.

- Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seat, Installing on the ] Front Seat, Installing on the Fixture For Seat Repair (VAS 6136).

- Equipment level with storage compartment: remove the storage compartment. Refer to => [ Storage Compartment ] Storage Compartment.

- Move the seat depth adjuster all the way forward.






- Unclip the tabs - arrows - on the trim - 1 - using a trim removal wedge (3409).

- Remove the trim from the seat depth adjuster.

Installing

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Service Precautions.

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Make sure the connectors are installed all the way in and are secure.

Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

- Connect the battery ground (GND) cable with the ignition turned on.

If the airbag indicator lamp (K75) indicates a fault after installation, the DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again using the vehicle diagnostic tester.
