Heated Oxygen Sensor in Front of Catalytic Converter and Oxygen Sensor Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter, Cylinder Bank 1

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Ring Spanner 7-Piece Set for Oxygen Sensor (3337)

Removing

During installation, all cable ties must be re-installed at the same location.

- Remove the engine cover.

- Disconnect electrical connector - 1 - on Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor (G70).

- Disconnect the vacuum line - 3 - to the air guide pipe.






Risk of violating emissions legislation.

Do not open hose connection - 2 -!

- Loosen the clamps - 4 -, open the clips - arrows - and move the air guide hose to the side with the crankcase ventilation hose still connected - 2 -.

- Remove affected electrical connector from bracket and disconnect it.

3 For Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) (G39)

The installation location is shown with the engine removed.

- Remove the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) (G39) - 4 - using a tool from the Ring Spanner 7-Piece Set for Oxygen Sensor (3337).

Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G130), Removing





- Remove the Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G130) - 1 - using a tool from the Ring Spanner 7-Piece Set for Oxygen Sensor (3337).

Installing

Tightening Specifications. Refer to => [ Oxygen Sensors Assembly Overview ] Oxygen Sensors Assembly Overview.

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

Coat new oxygen sensors with an assembly paste. This paste must not come into contact with sensor slots.

For a used oxygen sensor, only coat threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with sensor slots.

Electrical wire of oxygen sensor must always be secured in the same position when installing so that contact with the exhaust pipe is avoided.

During installation, all cable ties must be re-installed at the same location.
