Electrical and Electronic Component Locations

Data Link Connector (DLC)





Location: Data Link Connector (DLC) is located beneath knee bolster on left of steering wheel.

Shift Lock Solenoid (N110)





Location: Shift lock solenoid - 1 - is located in selector mechanism.

The solenoid is permanently installed in selector mechanism and cannot be replaced separately. Removal and installation is only possible in conjunction with selector mechanism. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism ] Selector Mechanism.

Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic (J743)





Location: direct shift gearbox (DSG) mechatronic (J743) is bolted on to transmission housing at front and covered by transmission oil pan.

The control module is permanently integrated on direct shift gearbox (DSG) mechatronic (J743).

Transmission Input Speed (RPM) Sensor (G182)/Clutch Oil Temperature Sensor (G509)





Location: The transmission input speed (RPM) sensor (G182) and clutch oil temperature sensor (G509) - A - are attached to the transmission housing under direct shift gearbox (DSG) mechatronic (J743).

• Checked by On-Board Diagnostics (OBD).

Selector Lever (E313) with Tiptronic Switch (F189), Selector Lever Park Position Lock Switch (F319)





Location: The selector lever (E313) with tiptronic switch (F189) as well as selector lever park position lock switch (F319) are permanently integrated into circuit board - B - of the selector mechanism. Components cannot be replaced separately.

• Checked by On-Board Diagnostics (OBD)

Removal and installation of selector lever (E313) with tiptronic switch (F189) as well as selector lever park position lock switch (F319) can only be performed together with selector mechanism. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism ] Selector Mechanism.

Transmission Range (TR) Display (Y6)





Location: Integrated into instrument cluster

• The Transmission Range (TR) Display can only be replaced together with the instrument cluster.

If Transmission Range (TR) Display flashes or lights up, refer to transmission control module safety functions. => [ Transmission Control Module,

Instrument cluster, removing and installing.

Selector Lever Scale Illumination (L101)





Location: In selector lever boot trim - 1 -.

• Checked by On-Board Diagnostics (OBD).

Brake Light Switch (F)





Location: Brake light switch - arrow - is located in foot pedal assembly.

• Checked by On-Board Diagnostics (OBD).

Brake light switch, removing and installing.

• Switch is only to be installed once so as to ensure a firm fit.

Kick Down Switch (F8)





A programmed value from throttle position (TP) sensor (G79) and accelerator pedal position sensor 2 (G185) (integrated in accelerator pedal module) are saved in engine control module as a kick-down signal.

• Checked by On-Board Diagnostics (OBD).

• Signal transmitted from engine control module (ECM) to transmission control module (TCM) via CAN bus.
