Condition
Customer may report the trunk is difficult to close, or excessive force required to latch the trunk closed.

Technical Background
The latch and striker for the trunk lid may be out of position and not properly engaging.

Production Solution
The adjustment of the rear lid latch and striker has been optimized at the factory.

Service

1. Access the lower lock striker according to the ElsaWeb Repair Manual:

Body >> Body Exterior >> 55 Hoods, Lids >> Removal and Installation >> Rear Lid >> Striker Pin.





2. Mark the original position of the striker relative to the body. Use this position as a reference of the original position for adjustments (Figure 1).

3. Reposition the Striker mechanism and check the operation of the rear lid.

4. Check for correct latching of the rear trunk lid by opening/closing the rear lid.
