Affected Vehicles

Condition
^ Advanced key ("convenience key" keyless entry) is inoperative for all doors.

^ The engine can be started using Advanced key (Keyless go).

Technical Background

The A6, A7, and A8 are equipped with the keyless starting system (Keyless go) as standard equipment; however, Advanced key is an optional feature.





All vehicles have an engine Start-stop button -E408- and the touch sensor surface on the outer door handles; however, this does not indicate that the optional Advance key function is installed.

Not applicable.

Service

Verify the vehicle is equipped with Advance key by checking whether PR number 413 or 4F2 is listed in the vehicle data. Only these PR codes indicate that the vehicle is equipped with Advanced key.
