Vehicle Information

Condition

The customer may report that after selecting a specific temperature in AUTO mode, the resulting airflow and temperature are uncomfortable.

Tip:
The customer complaint is subjective and may be difficult to diagnose during a road test. Please test drive with the customer before as well as after this repair to ensure a thorough understanding of the customer's concern.

Technical Background

At certain outside temperatures and operating conditions, the temperature in the passenger compartment fluctuates. This is caused by the unventilated sensor in the air conditioning control panel. There may also be DTCs stored for mechanical malfunction of one or more air distribution control motors in (08) air conditioning/heating control unit.

Production Solution

New software addresses this condition in the (08) air conditioning/heating control unit (J255), and if equipped, the (28) rear air conditioning/heating control unit (J265).

The sensitivity of the passenger compartment sensor has been optimized.
