Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVING AND INSTALLING STEERING LOCK/IGNITION SWITCH:

- Disconnect ground wire at battery.
- Remove and install casing lower section.
Service and Repair

A): Old Version:



- Unscrew set screw and remove ignition switch.




Installation: Turn ignition key to "0" position. Marks on ignition switch must be opposite each other.




- Pull off horn wires.
- Detach wire straps from steering column.

Installation: Check wire straps, replacing if necessary.




- Disconnect central plug.

B): New Version:



- Detach hazard light relay from holder.




- Pull off horn wires.
- Detach wire straps from steering column.

Installation: Check wire straps, replacing if necessary.




- Unscrew set screw and remove ignition switch.




Installation: Turn ignition key to "O" position.
Marks on ignition switch must be opposite each other.




- Disconnect central plug (1), plug (2) and wire (3).
