Motronic: Overview

The fuel injection controlled by the Motronic is basically the well-known L-Jetronic System, whereas the ignition angle is formed without mechanical components (such as centrifugal control and vacuum assemblies) by a map-controlled, fully electronic coil type ignition system.


The electronic control unit collects the signals from different sensors and calculates the optimal values for ignition timing and injection time in correspondence with the individual operating conditions. Then the ignition coil, injection valves, and fuel pump are controlled accordingly.
