Oil Pump: Service and Repair

Prior to disconnecting fuel lines, disconnect master relay and carefully depressurize fuel system.




1. Drain oil and remove oil pan.
2. Remove oil pump sprocket.
3. On 4 cylinder models remove two bolts holding pump.
4. On 6 cylinder models, remove oil pump and rear pickup holder bolts.
5. Remove oil pump.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Using shims, adjust chain to yield under slight pressure.
