Removing and Installing Front Guide Flange

Disassemble:





- Unscrew cover.

NOTE: Spacer thickness.

CAUTION:
Check length of bolts before installation.
Bolts (1 - 3) = 8 x 30 mm
Bolts (4 - 7) = 8 x 22 mm

Bearing Play Adjustments:
Adjust ball bearing play between input shaft bearing and guide flange to: 0.0 to 0.09 mm (0 to 0.0035 in)





- Measure distance (A) from case to ball bearing.





- Measure distance (B).

EXAMPLE:
B 8.1 mm (0.319 in)
- A 7.8 mm (0.307 in)

0.3 mm (0.012 in) needed spacer thickness

Adjust roller bearing play between layshaft bearing and guide flange to: 0.1 - 0.2 mm (0.004 - 0.008 in)





- Measure distance (C) from case to roller bearing outer race.





- Measure distance (D).

EXAMPLE:
D 4.8 mm (0.189 in)
- C 4.3mm (0.169 in)

0.5 mm (0.020 in) total clearance
- 0.1 - 0.2 mm (0.004 - 0.008 in) specified axial play

0.4 - 0.3 mm (0.016 - 0.012 in) needed spacer thickness

Assemble:
- Clean sealing surfaces thoroughly of oil.
- Coat sealing surfaces with Loctite No. 573.





- Hold spacers of calculated thickness in position with grease.
- Mount cover.
- Clean threads of old sealant.
- Install bolts with Loctite No. 573.
