SUBJECT: Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign No. 90E-A01 (for Cars Registered and Operated in the State of California)

MODELS: 325, 325e, 325es (1986 and 1987 model years)

Situation: BMW of North America, Inc. will initiate a voluntary emissions-related recall campaign to correct vehicles that may be in non-compliance with California Emissions Standards.

The campaign consists of a modification to the Motronic control unit. The EPROM in the Montronic control unit will be replaced with a microprocessor of different calibration.

This Service Information Bulletin outlines specifics for implemenation of this campaign. A copy of the customer letter is aftached for your information.
