Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REPLACING / CHECKING TDC POSITION TRANSMITTER





- Lift position transmitter out of clamp.

Installation Note:
- Make sure transmitter fits correctly.
- Clearance A = 0.2 to 2.0 mm (0.008 to 0.080").
- Mount wire





- Open lid on diagnosis socket.
- Lift clips (1 and 2) and press diagnosis socket out of holder.
- Unlock hooks and push round female plugs





(1 - 3) for transmitter lead out of receptacle.
1 = Black wire
2 = Shielding
3 = Yellow wire

Checking:
- Check resistance of coil and insulation.
- Maintain distance of 0.2 to 2.0 mm (0.008 to 0.080") to vibration damper.
