Exhaust Gas Recirculation: Adjustments

Fig. 1 Vacuum Regulator Valve (VRV) adjustment:

1. Install VRV adjustment key on throttle linkage, ensuring that key fits over boss on injection pump, Fig. 1.
2. Disconnect hoses from VRV, then connect vacuum source to inlet and a vacuum gauge to outlet port of VRV.
3. Apply constant vacuum of -600 +/- 10 mbar (16 in. Hg) to VRV inlet and observe gauge reading.
4. If gauge reading is not -360 +/- 5 mbar (11.5 in. Hg), adjust regulator linkage.
