Fuel Pump: Testing and Inspection

CHECKING FUEL LEVEL TRANSMITTER AND FUEL TRANSFER PUMP





- Connect ohmmeter (M06) of BMW service test unit on terminals G and 31.
- Swing fuel level transmitter slowly.
- Measure resistance with float positioned at EMPTY and FULL.
- Resistance value must change continuously while moving the float.





- There must be connection between W and 31 in float position EMPTY.





- Electric power is supplied to the fuel transfer pump via the fuel pump relay (relay 1).
- Check by measuring power input and delivery pressure.
