Front Disc Brake Pads Replace
Fig. 1 Caliper retaining pins & spring:
1. Remove wheel and disconnect wear sensor, if equipped, then drive out pad retaining pins and remove cross spring, Fig. 1.

2. Remove pads with two hook extractor No. 34 1-010, or a two hook extractor with slide hammer, No. 34 1000. The hooks fit into ear holes of pads, Fig. 2.
3. Replace with same type and color. Remove some master cylinder fluid. Brush out pad area and check disc.

4. Squeeze back pistons with an appropriate tool, Fig. 3, then slide pads into place. On models with notched piston, rotate notch in piston to 20 degree position and check alignment as shown in Fig. 4.
5. Install cross springs and retaining pins, then bleed brake system.
