SUBJECT: Installation of Front Spoiler

MODELS: 325is

Situation: The installation procedure for this model differs slightly from the 325es, and the instruction sheet does not clearly explain part of the procedure.

Information: When installing the front brackets, the long bolt for the center bracket will not clear the oil cooler. Since the bolt must be installed with the threaded portion pointing forward, it is necessary to move the oil cooler to allow the bolt to be inserted in the valance.

To obtain the necessary clearance, remove the mounting bolt from the left side of the oil cooler and loosen the right mounting bolt. Pull the left side of the cooler down enough to allow the center bolt to be inserted in the valance, and reinstall and retighten the oil cooler mounting bolts.

Note: The mounting holes for the far left and right brackets ("Z" brackets) are elongated in the valance, and two 6mm flat washers (not in hardware kit) must be used under the bolt heads.
