Pulse Transmitter

The pulse transmitter is located on the front of the engine, (above either the A/C compressor or the alternator). It performs the functions of the two separate speed and reference sensors that were mounted in the transmission bellhousing on previous models. The transmitter gets its speed signal from the teeth cast into the front crankshaft pulley, and the reference signal from the missing teeth.
