Oil Pump Testing

Testing and Servicing.






Check whether oil pump runs easily by turning the drive shaft.






Disassemble oil pump and clean the oil filter screen (5).






Check oil pump for wear.
- Scoring in body
- Wear on rotors






The pressure relief valve is installed in the main bore and regulates the engine oil pressure.

Check whether piston (6) moves easily.
Check length of spring (7) = 68 mm (2.677").






The 8 bar (112 psi) pressure relief valve regulates the oil pressure in front of the oil filter and prevents oil filter leakage.
Check piston seat (8).
Check length of spring (9) = 44 ±0.4 mm (1.732 ±0.016").






Installation:
Press in spring (9) and washer (10) with a wrench socket and install circlip (11).
