Radiator: Service and Repair
REMOVING AND INSTALLING RADIATORUnscrew cap on expansion tank.
Unscrew drain plug (1) and drain coolant.
Loosen hose clamp and pull off hose.
Caution!
Danger of scalding when engine is hot.
Installation:
Tightening torque = 2 + 1 Nm. - ( 1.5 + 0.75 ft.lbs) for drain plug.
Use new hose clamp.
Add coolant and bleed cooling system.
Pull off plugs on temperature switches.
Unscrew bolts (1).
Loosen hose clamp and pull off hose.
Cars with Automatic Transmission:
Unscrew oil line on radiator.
Installation:
Tightening torque:
- M18 X 15 = 18 + 3 Nm. - (13.32 + 2.2 ft.lbs.).
- M22 X 1.5 = 20 + 5 Nm. - (14.8 + 3.7 ft.lbs.).
Check ATF level.
Unscrew mounting bolts on left and right sides.
Lift out radiator.
Installation:
Position radiator on rubber mounts correctly.
