Code 1 (FGR Control Button)

FGR CONTROL BUTTON
Explanation
This defect code is stored when the Electronic Throttle Control (EML) control unit detects, via the Cruise Control (FGR) switch, a voltage outside the valid range from approx. 0.4 Volt to approx. 4.6, Volt.

NOTE: The current signal can be read off with status monitoring. (note additional information relating to defect code, i.e. detected at:).

Troubleshooting
- Compare the FGR switch "actual" position with the switch position as displayed on the screen (status monitoring).
- If the displayed switch position does not agree with the actual position, then the FGR switch is defective.
- Disconnect FGR switch when the display indicates "short to ground". If "break" is displayed, then the FGR switch is defective. Both lines must be checked if the display continued to indicate "short to ground".
- If "break" is displayed, detach FGR switch and connect both lines to the FGR wire harness connector. It "short to ground" is still displayed, the FGR switch is defective. If, on the other hand, "break" is displayed, both lines must be checked.
- Proceed with other displayed scan tool diagnostic instructions where applicable.
