88BMW02

GROUP 61 Chassis - Electrical
Bulletin Number 61 01 88 (1568) Page 1 of 1
Montvale, NJ January 1988 Technical Dept.
SUBJECT: Battery Draw

MODELS: All E32

Situation: A current draw of approximately 0.2A to 0.3A will occur if the key is left in the ignition.

The "Key in Ignition" input is monitored by the Check Control module. The Check Control module remains active until the key is removed from the ignition.

If the key is left in the ignition the battery will discharge approximately 10 times faster than normal.

For this reason, please inform all E32 customers and dealership personnel to remove the key from the ignition when the car is not being driven.
