Important Program Additions

In the past three years, the number of diagnostic-capable control units has increased from six to thirty, making a reorganization of diagnostics necessary.


To facilitate this, BMW has made all new programs (starting with this version) consistent in the following areas:

- CONSTRUCTION
- PROGRAM FEATURES
- HEADINGS

All changes in the diagnostic programs pertain only to new programs. Existing programs are unchanged.

Note: The format of the diagnosing program is selected by the tester according to the identification of the control unit being diagnosed. For example, different test plans are selected for DME M1.1 and M1.3. The new format incorporated into Version 8.0 will only be used when a control unit is encountered that uses a new diagnosing program.
