To display outside, ambient temperatures, the ignition must be in either the accessory or start/run position. By pressing this button. the temperature will be displayed in degrees Fahrenheit in American or British, and degrees Celsius in German.

At temperatures below 37° Fahrenheit, a warning gong will sound and the display will flash for eight seconds. It is not necessary to be in the TEMP mode to receive this warning. It is a warning that road icing conditions may be present.

Should ambient temperatures increase to 43° Fahrenheit, or more, and then again drop below 37°, the warning will sound again.
