Rear Side Window Trim

Situation:
The trim strips surrounding the rear side windows on 2-door models can come loose and must be re-fastened.
Correction:
Clean the glass and trim strip with mineral spirits. The glue bead on the strip must not be removed.
Apply some Cleaner 207 from the repair kit (BMW P/N 81 22 9 407 497) to the edge of the window in the area to be re-fastened with a clean, dry cloth. Let the cleaner air dry for at least 10 minutes.
Apply a uniform coat of adhesive to the trim strip to be re-fastened, and press onto window. The trim strip should be held in place with pressure (i.e. tape) until the adhesive sets up. Remove any excess adhesive immediately with mineral spirits. Complete curing of the adhesive takes approximately 24 hours.
