SUBJECT:
Replacement of OBC Horn with Siren

MODELS:
5 Series (E34), 7 Series (E32)

Situation:
E32 and E34 (535i, M5)vehicles currently equipped with the port installed alarm system (P/N 88 88 1 600 227) use the factory OBC horn as an alert device for the alarm.

Some customers may prefer the tone of the siren that is included with the Alpine alarm system as fitted to E30 vehicles.

Correction:
For customers who prefer the tone of the siren to that of the OBC horn, or for use in 525i (E34) vehicles not equipped with an OBC horn, a kit has been developed for the installation of this siren.

This kit (P/N 88 88 1 600 296) consists of a siren, mounting hardware, and instructions.

Please note that this "siren kit" is not included in alarm kit, P/N 88 88 1 600 227 and is offered as an extra cost dealer installed option only.

A copy of the installation instructions is included with this Service Information Bulletin.
