SUBJECT:
Improved Software for MOTOROLA CMT3000VR Phones

MODEL:
750iL, 740i/iL and 540I with an Eject Box Software Version less than 06

Situation:

In September 1996 you have received SI Bulletin 84 03 96 with instructions to change the eject box EPROM to software version 06. This software version is mandatory for all cars with navigation system which will be equipped with a MOTOROLA CMT3000VR Cellular Phone and it also has to be applied on all new CMT3000VR installations.

After intensive testing, software version 06 has proven its stability also in correcting numerous customer complaints. All known problems which are related to the integrated functions of the phone, will be fixed with this EPROM.

Therefore we decided to make a production change. In November 1996 all MOTOROLA CMT3000VR kits and eject boxes will incorporate the new software. As of production change, the part numbers for the kits, for the eject box and for the EPROM will change; the new versions will be labeled HW03/SW07. You will get separate information when the production change will be effective.

Note:
For the EPROM, there will be no difference between software version 06 and software version 07 and no need for purging your inventory. All spare EPROMS with a software versions less than 06 are no longer valid!

Besides fixing the software errors in the eject box EPROM, we also corrected a few functional inconsistencies which may lead to a customer complaint.

All fixes and functional changes are described below.
