Horn Alert - BMW Cellular Phone

MODEL:
1989 E32s (built 9/88 and later)

Situation:
The vehicle wiring harness and fusebox now incorporate the necessary components to utilize the Horn Alert function of the BMW Cellular Phone.

The procedures outlined in S.I. 65 13 87 (1527) which show how to install these components are no longer necessary on E32s built 9/88 and later.





Note:
Some vehicles built in 9/88 may not have the BR wire on the transceiver harness (Figure 1) connected to X8065 (SW/GR/WS wire) located behind the right rear seat (Figure 2).

In order for the horn alert feature to function on these vehicles it will be necessary to connect these two wires together with the appropriate connector and length wire.











Wiring schematics
